Overview
Sixth Form Supervisor Study Skills Independent Learning Support KS5 Full-Time Long-Term or Permanent
A supportive and well-structured secondary school in Dagenham is seeking a confident and organised Sixth Form Study Supervisor / Independent Study Supervisor to support students during independent learning, study periods, and academic development sessions.
This role focuses on promoting strong study habits, supporting student progression, and maintaining a focused and productive learning environment for KS5 students
.
- Supervise Sixth Form students during independent study, form time, and structured learning sessions
- Support students with organisation, revision strategies, and study skills development
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, focused study environment
- Monitor attendance and engagement during study periods
- Provide general academic guidance and signpost students to subject teachers where needed
- Support interventions for students requiring additional academic or organisational support
- Work closely with Sixth Form leadership, pastoral teams, and teaching staff
- Assist with UCAS preparation, revision workshops, and academic mentoring where appropriate
- Inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school with a growing Sixth Form provision
- Strong pastoral systems and clear behaviour expectations
- Supportive leadership team and collaborative staff culture
- Focus on student progression, independence, and post-16 development
- Modern Sixth Form study facilities
- Good transport links across East London and Essex
- Experience working with secondary or post-16 students desirable
- Strong behaviour management and classroom supervision skills
- Ability to support student organisation, study skills, and academic development
- Confident working independently and managing groups of KS5 students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in education, pastoral support, mentoring, or academic coaching is advantageous
