In the role of Research Library and Information Officer you will sit at the heart of our Insight & Performance team, ensuring colleagues across Macmillan can quickly and confidently access the information and evidence they need. You'll manage and develop knowledge management tools and processes that turn information into action. From overseeing our internal research library and academic journal subscriptions to supporting literature reviews and publication processes, you'll make sure the right knowledge reaches the right people at the right time.

- Ensure colleagues can easily find and use information from internal and external knowledge sites, research libraries and databases
- Support both guided and self-serve access to evidence and research
- Help colleagues carry out literature reviews and summarise the evidence base
- Oversee subscriptions to academic journals and specialist publications
- Maintain and develop the Insight & Performance SharePoint research library (the Evidence Portal)
- Monitor usage of internal and external resources and drive continuous improvement
- Support the development of knowledge management tools using Microsoft SharePoint, Power Apps and Teams
- Apply best practice in records management, information architecture and taxonomy design
- Ensure adherence to retention policies and quality standards
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of academic journal submission processes
- Support internal and external publication workflows
- Contribute to effective information and records management across the Insight & Performance team
We're looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with a service mindset and strong collaboration skills.
You’ll bring:- In-depth experience using academic research journals, libraries and databases
- A strong understanding of records management principles
- Experience managing document libraries or content management systems (e.g. Microsoft SharePoint or similar platforms)
- A good understanding of the medical, clinical and social science research landscape
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence supporting colleagues with evidence gathering and knowledge tools
