Location: City of Westminster
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and practising Catholic teacher to take on the role of Religious Education (RE) Lead and Class Teacher from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher with strong subject knowledge in Religious Education to lead and further develop the Catholic life and mission of our school while maintaining high standards of teaching and learning in the classroom.
RELead Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Religious Education across the school in line with diocesan guidance.
- Monitor planning, teaching and assessment in RE to ensure high standards.
- Support and coach staff in delivering high-quality RE lessons.
- Work closely with the Headteacher and Parish to promote the Catholic ethos of the school.
- Coordinate collective worship, liturgical celebrations and key Church events.
- Prepare for and lead aspects of diocesan inspections (e.g. Catholic School Inspection).
- Manage RE resources and budget effectively.
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Assess, record and report on pupil progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies.
- Uphold and promote the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
- A practising Catholic with a strong commitment to Catholic education.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience of teaching Religious Education to a high standard.
- Strong knowledge of the RE curriculum and diocesan requirements.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate pupils and colleagues.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- CCRS (Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies) or willingness to work towards it.
- Previous leadership experience or subject leadership responsibility.
- Experience preparing for inspection.
