Youth Development, Special Needs / Learning Disabilities, Guidance Counselor: Social/Educational, School Counselor
Overview
Here at Blue Skies Education we are working in partnership with a very special school that offers education provisions to CYPs (children and young people) with SEMH profiles. The CYPs at this provision do not attend mainstream school as they present behaviours that challenge and require additional support and care in their school life that cannot be facilitated in a mainstream setting.
Often the CYPs at this provision will have a background of trauma, adverse childhood experiences and/or be neuro-divergent (e.g., ADHD, ASC).
We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor who can mentor, support and inspire these children and teenagers. It is a unique opportunity to help guide them through challenging phases in their lives.
Ideally you will be a graduate of a psychology, criminology or creative arts-based degree (art, drama, music), as these areas offer real value and experience to support different learning platforms and angles with the students.
This position will begin via Blue Skies Education as an agency worker but may lead to a permanent contract directly with the school if the temporary period is successful for you, the school and the students.
If you are compassionate, confident, inspiring, a skilled communicator with a genuine interest to make a difference for CYPs that will supersede a lack of direct experience in a similar role.
