Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant & Behaviour Mentor

Haringey, North London
110 - 125 per day ASAP or September Start Full-Time Long-Term

Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant and Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in Haringey.

This is a varied role combining classroom support with targeted behavioural interventions for pupils who require additional guidance to succeed both academically and socially. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support learning, improve engagement, and help pupils develop positive behaviours and emotional regulation skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classrooms
  • Delivering targeted interventions for pupils requiring additional support
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups with children displaying behavioural or emotional needs
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and acting as a consistent role model
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, and social development
  • Encouraging engagement and participation within lessons
  • Collaborating with teachers, SEN staff, and parents where required

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with primary-aged children and be confident supporting pupils with behavioural, SEMH, or additional learning needs. Strong communication skills, patience, and a proactive attitude are essential.

Applications are welcomed from candidates with backgrounds in psychology, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, mental health, speech and language, or other related fields relevant to supporting children and young people.
