A friendly and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Early Years Practitioner to join their Early Years team from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Early Years professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of outstanding early years provision, helping to create a nurturing, stimulating and engaging environment where every child can flourish.
The RoleWorking within the school's Early Years setting, you will support the planning and delivery of high-quality learning experiences, lead by example within the team and contribute to the ongoing development of the provision. You will build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues, ensuring that all pupils receive the support they need to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Support the day-to-day running of the Early Years provision.
- Lead engaging, child-centred learning activities that promote development across all areas of learning.
- Observe, assess and monitor children's progress and contribute to learning records.
- Support and mentor other members of the Early Years team where appropriate.
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Promote children's social, emotional and academic development.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, sharing information about children's progress and wellbeing.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and welfare requirements are consistently met.
- Contribute to planning, assessments and the continuous improvement of the Early Years provision.
- Holds a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
- Has experience working within an Early Years setting, ideally in a senior or leadership capacity.
- Possesses a strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Is passionate about early childhood education and child development.
- Can work effectively as part of a team while taking initiative when required.
- Has a positive, proactive and nurturing approach.
