Maths Tutor Hackney September 2026 Start

Are you a Russell Group Maths graduate looking to apply your subject knowledge in a rewarding educational setting? A successful secondary school in Hackney is seeking a Maths Tutor to join from September 2026 on a full-time basis until July 2027.

The school is recognised for its strong academic culture and commitment to raising attainment across core subjects. Mathematics remains one of the school's highest-performing departments, with students consistently achieving results above national averages. Through carefully planned intervention programmes and targeted academic support, the school helps pupils develop confidence and mastery in Mathematics across KS3 and KS4.

Maths Tutor What the School Offers
  • £444 £ 513 per week via PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
  • Full academic year contract until July 2027 with potential extension

The Role

You will deliver targeted Maths interventions, support classroom learning and provide 1:1 and small-group tuition for students requiring additional academic support. You will work closely with teachers to identify gaps in knowledge and implement strategies to improve progress and attainment.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Russell Group graduate with a 2:1 or above in Mathematics or a related subject
  • Previous child-centred experience through tutoring, mentoring or coaching
  • Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills
  • Interest in teaching, education or academic research
