An 'Outstanding' and supportive Secondary School in the Borough of Barking and Dagenham is looking for a Humanities Teacher / Humanities ECT
- History, RE & Geography for a September 2026 start. This is a full time and permanent post.
The current Humanities Head of Department has helped the Humanities Department grow from strength to strength. They have a mix of young, experienced and Teach First Teachers, alongside multiple Humanities graduate Teaching Assistants who support attainment across KS3, KS4 & KS5. The school has produced impressive Progress 8 results and a fun, creative learning environment for students.
Job Description- Humanities Teacher / Humanities ECT
- History, RE & Geography covering KS3, KS4 & KS5 - Inspire and motivate the younger generation
- Collaborate with a team of Humanities Teachers
- Oversee Teaching Leadership Responsibilities such as KS3 & KS4 Coordinator and Pastoral responsibilities
- Mentor ECTs with 1:1 support, bespoke induction, in‑house and out‑of‑house training
- September 2025 – Full Time & Permanent
- Salary: MPS1-UPS3 + TLR (size depending on experience)
- Location:
Borough of Barking and Dagenham
- UK QTS or in the process of gaining
- Strong academic background – degree, A Levels and GCSEs
- Meeting the 8 Teaching Standards at a Good or Outstanding level
- Team player capable of working within a large team of Humanities Teachers
- Open to feedback and continuous improvement
- Graded 'Outstanding' in the latest Ofsted report
- Impressive Progress 8 results
- Modern, creative facilities throughout
- Impeccable behaviour standards
- Significant support from graduate Teaching Assistants
- Good transport links
