An 'Outstanding' and supportive Secondary School in the Borough of Barking and Dagenham is looking for a Humanities Teacher / Humanities ECT
- History, RE & Geography for a September 2026 start. This is a full time and permanent post.

The current Humanities Head of Department has helped the Humanities Department grow from strength to strength. They have a mix of young, experienced and Teach First Teachers, alongside multiple Humanities graduate Teaching Assistants who support attainment across KS3, KS4 & KS5. The school has produced impressive Progress 8 results and a fun, creative learning environment for students.

Job Description
  • Humanities Teacher / Humanities ECT
    - History, RE & Geography covering KS3, KS4 & KS5
  • Inspire and motivate the younger generation
  • Collaborate with a team of Humanities Teachers
  • Oversee Teaching Leadership Responsibilities such as KS3 & KS4 Coordinator and Pastoral responsibilities
  • Mentor ECTs with 1:1 support, bespoke induction, in‑house and out‑of‑house training
  • September 2025 – Full Time & Permanent
  • Salary: MPS1-UPS3 + TLR (size depending on experience)
  • Location:

    Borough of Barking and Dagenham
Person Specification
  • UK QTS or in the process of gaining
  • Strong academic background – degree, A Levels and GCSEs
  • Meeting the 8 Teaching Standards at a Good or Outstanding level
  • Team player capable of working within a large team of Humanities Teachers
  • Open to feedback and continuous improvement
