Pastoral Support Graduate Teaching Assistant – Graduate entry level position at a high‑achieving Secondary School and Sixth Form in Newham, East London. The role supports pupils in university applications, particularly first‑generation candidates, helping them gain places at leading UK universities.
Responsibilities- Assist pupils throughout the university application process, including advice on university selection and application preparation.
- Support students in overcoming significant barriers to education and university access.
- Coordinate with staff and organise school trips to university cities where appropriate.
- Provide pastoral support to students in a high‑achieving school setting.
- Graduate of a top 10, Oxbridge or other high‑ranking university with a STEM, Science, Maths or Engineering background.
- First or second class honours degree (1st or 2:1). Prior experience supporting university applications is desirable.
- Experience or personal background of facing significant barriers in education is considered an asset.
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 2:45 pm. Salary £515 – £545 per week. Permanent contract available from September 2027. Interview ASAP – starting September.
