About the National Teaching Assistant Programme

Vision for Education are excited to launch opportunities through our National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP), designed to support individuals looking to start a rewarding career in education.

Whether you have previous experience working with children through childcare, coaching, youth work, care, or voluntary roles, or you're simply passionate about making a difference in young people's lives, this programme could be the perfect pathway into the classroom.

Working in partnership with primary schools across Chigwell, we are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and motivated individuals to train and develop into successful Teaching Assistants.

The programme includes:

  • Practical classroom experience

  • Access to long-term and permanent school opportunities
  • Valuable insight into supporting children with a range of learning needs
The Role

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils in the classroom, on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
  • Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will:

  • Have a genuine passion for working with children
  • Be enthusiastic, patient, and willing to learn
  • Have transferable skills gained through childcare, coaching, youth work, care, customer service, or other people-focused roles
  • Be able to build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Be committed to completing the training programme and developing your skills

No previous school experience is required.
