Overview
As an Educational Psychologist, you will contribute to children and their families across Westminster by providing a high‑quality applied educational psychology consultation service within the Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea Educational Psychology Consultation Service (WKC EPCS). You will work across schools, community and care settings including early years, primary, secondary, post‑16, virtual school and youth justice service.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with staff in schools or settings, parents/carers and children/young people to provide evidence‑based psychological advice as part of the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process.
- Provide critical incident support to schools and colleagues across the Council where necessary.
- Conduct assessments and develop interventions that meet the requirements of the 2014 Children and Families Act and the 2015 SEN Code of Practice.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of your work and practice, continuously improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to a range of stakeholders.
- Maintain up‑to‑date professional knowledge and adhere to the BPS standards for practice.
- Registered Practitioner with doctoral level training in educational and child psychology (or equivalent).
- Degree accredited by the British Psychological Society.
- Registered Member of the Health Care Profession Council, eligible for Chartered Status.
