SEN TUTOR - Outreach Tutor needed in Westminster
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced SEN Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education packages to primary-aged pupils in Westminster who are currently not attending school.
As an Outreach Tutor, you will create, plan and deliver tailored lessons across English, Maths and Science at a primary level, helping to bridge gaps in learning and rebuild confidence. This role is ideal for someone with strong SEN experience who is passionate about personalised, engaging education.
Many of the young people you will support may have been out of education for some time, so patience, consistency and the ability to re-engage learners is essential. You will play a key role in helping them re-establish routine, develop trust and make meaningful academic progress.
Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor pupil progress and ensure effective, high‑quality learning is taking place.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
Location - Various locations across Westminster
Position - Outreach Tutor
Type of work - Contract
Start date - ASAP
Duration / Likely Duration - Dependent on each student
End date - N/A
Contract type - Temporary
Full time/part time - Part time (10-15 hours per week)
Minimum rate of pay - £25 per hour
Hours - Minimum 1 hour per session, maximum 3 hours per sessionEXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
SEN experience required
Strong subject knowledge in primary English, Maths and Science
QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
6 months+ experience working in a UK school
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one
Provide two professional, child‑related references covering the last two years OTHER
