About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a committed and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Tulse Hill (SW2), Lambeth. This role involves working closely with pupils with high needs Special Educational Needs, requiring a candidate who is experienced, adaptable and confident supporting children with complex profiles, including those who may require personal care. This is a highly rewarding position for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with high needs SEN
  • Assist with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times
  • Support pupils' learning, behaviour, and emotional development
  • Implement strategies from EHCPs and guidance from the SENCO
  • Promote a structured, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
Ideal Candidate
  • Proven experience working with high needs SEN pupils
  • Confidence and willingness to support personal care needs
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • Experience in a primary school setting
  • Training such as Team Teach, manual handling, or safeguarding
