As a SEN Teacher, you'll be working with young people who are confident communicators and are developing a deeper understanding of themselves and others. In this SEN Teacher role, students will:

• Communicate clearly and take part in conversations
• Understand more complex instructions and language
• Show growing independence and self‑awareness
• Be able to manage challenges and build resilience (with some support)
• Use their skills in different situations, both in and out of the classroom
• Take part in social activities and build friendships
• Learn simple planning and reflection skills
• Be able to access parts of the national curriculum

As a SEN Teacher, your role is to guide and challenge students so they can keep developing these important life and learning skills.

• Deliver structured and engaging lessons linked to the national curriculum
• Support independence, confidence, and everyday life skills
• Encourage communication, discussion, and social interaction
• Help students apply learning in real‑life situations
• Support planning, reflection, and emotional understanding
• Create a positive and well‑structured classroom environment
• Work closely with support staff and other professionals
• Celebrate progress and prepare students for their next steps as a SEN Teacher

• Has experience working with SEN, especially with more independent learners
• Is comfortable teaching structured lessons and some national curriculum content
• Can support both academic learning and personal development
• Encourages communication and social skills
• Is positive, patient, and adaptable
• Wants to help young people prepare for adulthood
• Holds QTS/QTLS (ideal for a SEN Teacher role)
