Overview
1x FTE (36 hours a week over 52 weeks a year) at Merton College

Merton College are seeking for a Pastoral Tutor. This is an exciting new role aimed at improving the learner experience and improving the positive progression of all learners.
Responsibilities- Track and monitor the progress of Further Education learners assigned to you.
- Conduct 1:1 meetings with learners and deliver college group tutorial programmes.
- Liaise with staff and parents/guardians regarding learner progress and signpost learners to wider support as needed.
- Be part of the College Safeguarding team and support a caseload of students.
- Experience delivering student workshops or tutorials to a diverse range of students and supporting progress on a 1:1 basis.
- Experience of youth and community work and an understanding of the needs of students and how these may be met.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships and work effectively in a high-performing team.
- A Level 3 qualification in Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology or Health & Social Care would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience of careers advice and guidance is desirable.
