We are currently looking to appoint a part‑time Art Technician (three days per week) to provide technical support for teachers at Harris Lowe Academy Willesden.
The salary for this role will be £14,849.33 - £15,061.20 (22.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year).
Responsibilities- Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
- Monitor, support and record student progress and overall development.
- Facilitate and encourage learning experiences that allow students to achieve their individual potential.
- Contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
- Share and support the academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
- Operational and strategic planning – lesson planning, resource development, syllabus contribution and departmental planning.
- Curriculum planning and staff development, including the performance management review process.
- Quality assurance – monitor and evaluate the subject area.
- Management of information – maintain records and track student progress.
- Communications with students, parents and other stakeholders.
- Pastoral responsibilities – form tutoring and support.
- Teaching – deliver a high‑quality learning experience for students.
- Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including experience in multi‑ethnic urban schools.
- Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning.
- Recognise the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students.
- Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 and competence in lesson planning, resource development and assessment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain positive relationships with staff.
- Good level of ICT skills, including innovative use of interactive whiteboards.
- Create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students.
- Communicate positively with parents, carers and external agencies where necessary.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Lead and manage own work effectively and demonstrate excellent time‑management skills.
- Motivate students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies.
