SEN Tutor - Make a lasting difference

At Remedy Tutors, we believe every child and young person deserves access to education that meets their individual needs and unlocks their potential.

We are looking for passionate, dedicated and experienced tutors to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning and achieve meaningful progress both academically and personally.

Whether you're supporting a learner with Autism, ADHD, ODD, SEMH needs, anxiety or other additional needs, your expertise could make a life-changing difference.

The role

As a Remedy Tutor, you will deliver tailored 1:1 or small-group tuition designed around each learner's unique strengths, challenges and learning goals.

You will:

  • Assess each student's individual needs and create personalised learning plans
  • Deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons that inspire confidence and progress
  • Adapt teaching approaches and resources to suit a variety of learning styles and needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students who may have become disengaged from education
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to parents, carers, schools and local authorities
  • Maintain accurate records of learning, attendance and achievement
What we're looking for

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEND and/or additional needs
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • The ability to motivate and engage learners who may have experienced barriers to education
  • Patience, resilience, empathy and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate (preferably registered on the Update Service)
Desirable experience
  • Previous tutoring or classroom teaching experience
  • Experience supporting learners with Autism, ADHD, ODD, SEMH or other additional needs
  • Training in areas such as TEACCH, Makaton, Autism Awareness, Team Teach or similar SEND‑related approaches
Why join Remedy Tutors?
  • Flexible tutoring opportunities to fit around your schedule
  • Competitive rates of pay
  • Dedicated consultant support
  • Rewarding work that genuinely changes lives
  • Opportunities to work with a diverse range of learners and educational settings

If you're passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential, we'd love to hear from you.
