Overview
To include working with named pupils with EHCPs, 32.5 hours per week LSA (8.30–3.30pm), half hour unpaid lunch break, term time only (39 weeks), permanent – subject to probation
We are seeking to appoint a strong, adaptable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support learning across whole classes, as well as working closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The role will also include responsibilities as a Midday Meal Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Support learning across whole classes and work closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs who have an EHCP.
- Provide responsibilities as a Midday Meal Supervisor.
- Work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo to provide high-quality support that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.
- Build positive, nurturing relationships with children and work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrate flexibility, initiative and resilience; support the Catholic ethos and values of the school; work with individuals and groups of pupils in class and on the playground; deliver interventions for pupils with additional needs.
- Follow all school policies, in particular Safeguarding, Behaviour and KCSIE.
- Support children's learning and development, help to plan and organise activities and the learning environment; contribute to the overall ethos of the school.
- Participate in training and other learning activities as necessary and undertake first aid training.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills with a secure understanding of early reading and phonics.
- Good working knowledge of how to support pupils with language and communication needs, social communication difficulties, cognition and learning needs, and development of social skills.
- Experience of working with children with SEN is desirable and experience of working with children in a mainstream educational setting.
- Ability to follow all school policies.
