OverviewThis Pastoral Support Assistant role is ideal for a graduate interested in education, psychology, safeguarding or youth support. The successful candidate will work alongside the pastoral team to support pupils with attendance, wellbeing, behaviour and personal challenges. The school recognises that strong pastoral care is essential to pupil success and provides a supportive environment where students are encouraged to achieve their potential.
Salary/Contract
:
Lewisham Full Academic Year Contract £500 - £550 per week
- Experience with in a secondary pastoral team
- Exposure to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing strategies
- Opportunity to support mentoring and intervention work
- Development of communication and organisational skills
- Support from experienced pastoral leaders
- Excellent preparation for careers in education, psychology or social care
- Hold A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications) and a BA degree
- Have strong interpersonal skills
- Be approachable and supportive
- Communicate effectively with pupils and staff
- Be organised and proactive
- Have a genuine interest in supporting young people
