Visiting Tutor in ESOL (Adults)

Responsibilities

Help develop the Adult ESOL provision at the Adult ESOL Skills Centre based at the dedicated Brixton Campus.

Teach ESOL and potentially another discipline such as Maths, IT, or Vocational subjects to adult learners.

Prepare and deliver high quality lessons in line with the college curriculum and assessment frameworks.

Provide individual and group support to learners, fostering their development and confidence.

Collaborate with colleagues in the Adult Education department to contribute to curriculum development and improvement.

Qualifications
  • Qualified and experienced as an ESOL lecturer for adults.
  • Experience teaching across disciplines (dual professionals) e.g., ESOL & Maths, ESOL & IT, or ESOL & Vocational.
  • Strong agile, flexible, reliable teaching practice.
  • Confidence and autonomy in subject delivery.
  • Collaborative team player, builds positive relationships, upholds integrity under pressure.
  • Advanced digital literacy, innovative and committed to continuous learning.
  • Passion and creativity for pedagogy and learner development.
Role Details
  • VT (seasonal/sessional) hours: between 6 and 15 hours per term.
  • Term-time only.
  • Closing date:
    Sunday 5th July 2026, 23:59.
  • Interview date: 13th July 2026.
