Job Overview

Advert closing date: 13th July 2026. Role start: ASAP until January 2027.

We are recruiting for a Headteacher to join Roehampton Gate School, a purpose‑built day school for young people with autistic spectrum disorders, located on Priory Lane. The school accommodates up to 70 students with specialist subjects and sensory/therapy rooms. Additionally, a new Post‑16 provision at Putney Vale offers both academic and vocational qualifications, life‑skills and vocational training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong, strategic leadership and build a school which can achieve the very best for pupils.
  • Create and lead the vision of the curriculum and education programmes, ensuring an inclusive culture in line with Aspris values.
  • Lead and develop staff, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning and ensuring pupils achieve positive outcomes academically and personally.
  • Oversee safeguarding, curriculum development and school improvement, building strong partnerships with families, external professionals and the wider community.
  • Ensure the school meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, including those set by Ofsted, and champion opportunities that support pupils’ independence and preparation for adulthood.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as a senior leader in a specialist educational setting.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and ability to inspire exceptional performance in both pupils and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and to the welfare of children and young people.
  • Willingness to undergo safeguarding screening and provide the required references covering the last three years.
