Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled fashion Technical Tutor to join the Fashion Atelier team. The role balances hands-on technical tuition with the running of a high‑standard fashion production workshop. The successful candidate will combine garment construction expertise with a strong motivation to embed fashion technologies into daily teaching, including experience with denim and tailoring techniques, troubleshooting large-format digital textile printers and pattern plotter‑cutters, and adapting to evolving facilities and curriculum.
You will pass on current garment construction and fashion technology skills to students, support the success of students and the course, and contribute to the university through direct sewing of garments and prototypes for exhibitions, competitions, and marketing campaigns. You will also collaborate with industry partners as part of the learning with industry strategy and take pride in the organisation, presentation, and safety of the Atelier to reflect the course standards and inspire students.

Responsibilities- Provide hands-on technical tuition in garment construction and fashion technologies.
- Lead and manage the fashion production workshop, ensuring safety, organisation, and presentation to reflect course standards.
- Demonstrate advanced technique in denim and tailoring construction to students and troubleshoot equipment such as large-format digital textile printers and pattern plotters.
- Directly sew garments and prototypes for exhibitions, competitions, and marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with industry partners as part of the learning with industry strategy.
- Contribute to course and university success through dynamic teaching and operational leadership within the Atelier.
- Extensive experience in garment construction and a strong motivation to embed fashion technologies into daily teaching.
- Proven ability to teach and demonstrate complex techniques to groups of students.
- Experience with or willingness to work with digital textile printing and pattern plotter‑cutting equipment.
- Strong sense of professionalism, meticulous organisation, and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to contribute to exhibitions, competitions, and industry collaborations as part of the learning strategy.

Interviews will consist of an initial Q&A with a panel, followed by a technical assessment lasting up to one hour, in which you will be asked to sew a sleeve gauntlet from pre-cut pieces while explaining (as if to students) what you are doing.
The entire interview process should last no more than 2 hours in total.
