Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location:

Paddington, London

Contract:

Full‑time, Term Time Only
Salary: 120‑130 p/d

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to assess pupil progress and contribute to planning next steps.
  • Provide targeted interventions to support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs where required.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, school events and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
  • Holds HLTA status or has equivalent experience and qualifications.
  • Has experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
  • Is confident leading whole‑class learning when required.
  • Has a sound understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Is adaptable, organised and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Has a positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for education.
