Overview

Vanguard School, a well‑established educational institution in the United Kingdom, seeks a dedicated Learning Mentor to join our Learning Support team. This is a 1‑year fixed‑term position with potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities
  • Support students’ academic progress and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to provide tailored guidance and encouragement.
  • Identify and address barriers to learning and help students build confidence.
  • Develop and implement appropriate support strategies for individual student needs.
  • Maintain accurate caseload records and manage time efficiently.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an educational or mentoring role with children or young people.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to assess individual student needs and devise suitable support plans.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with diverse learners facing various challenges.
  • Good organisational skills and the capacity to manage caseloads efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of safeguarding procedures within schools; relevant training will be provided if necessary.
