Location:

SEN Primary and Secondary Schools in Newham. Role:
Cover SEN Teaching Assistant (Supply Pool).

Contract:

Flexible, Casual/Supply. Salary:
Competitive daily rate.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed Cover SEN Teaching Assistants to join our flexible supply pool, supporting SEN primary and secondary schools across Newham. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible working arrangements while gaining rewarding experience within specialist education.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality classroom support on an ad hoc basis, covering staff absence and additional staffing needs.
  • Work alongside experienced teachers and school staff to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Support pupils in lessons and throughout the school day.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapt to different classes, age groups, and learning needs.
  • Assist with personalised learning activities and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or educational setting.
  • Calm, patient, resilient, and flexible.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Confidence in adapting to different school environments.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
