Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Ealing | Full-Time | September Start

Thinking about a career in teaching? This could be the perfect first step.

We're working with a friendly and supportive secondary school in Ealing that is looking to appoint four Graduate Teaching Assistants to join the team from September.

The school is looking for new and recent graduates who are keen to gain classroom experience before moving into teacher training or a longer-term career in education.

Your degree doesn't need to be in education. Graduates from any subject will be considered, although English, Psychology, Maths, Science and other core subjects would be particularly useful.

What matters most is your attitude. The school is looking for people who are approachable, adaptable, willing to learn and happy to get involved wherever they're needed.

What will you be doing?

This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same thing every day.

You'll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff, helping students both in and out of the classroom. You'll receive training and gradually build experience across different areas of the school.

Your role is likely to include:

  • Supporting students in lessons, both one-to-one and in small groups.
  • Assisting pupils who need a little extra help with their learning.
  • Supporting students with additional needs when required.
  • Helping teachers keep lessons running smoothly.
  • Encouraging students to stay engaged and build confidence.
  • Getting involved in the wider life of the school.
We're looking for someone who:
  • Has a degree in any subject.
  • Enjoys working with young people.
  • Is patient, reliable and willing to help wherever needed.
  • Can communicate confidently with both students and staff.
  • Is flexible and happy to take on a variety of responsibilities.
  • Is considering a future in teaching or education.
What you'll get in return
  • A full-time role in a welcoming secondary school.
  • Ongoing support and training from experienced staff.
  • Valuable classroom experience that will strengthen future teacher training applications.
  • The opportunity to learn about different aspects of school life.
  • Competitive daily pay.

This is an excellent opportunity if you're looking to gain real classroom experience, build your confidence and find out whether teaching is the right career for you.

If that sounds like the kind of opportunity you're looking for, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV, and we will be in touch to tell you more about the school and the role.

Loyal Blue Recruitment is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references, Right to Work checks and full compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
