About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Academic Mentor to support students in their learning and development. Working closely with teachers, you will help create a positive classroom environment, support individual and small-group learning, assist with lesson preparation, and encourage student engagement and progress. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and helping young people succeed.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 GCSEs at grades A–C (4–9), including English and Mathematics.
  • A 2:1 degree or above from a recognised university.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and professional approach to work.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
General Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and learning activities.
  • Assist students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support students with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Supervise students during break times, educational visits, or extracurricular activities where required.
  • Contribute to the school's ethos and commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
