About the Role

Choice Teachers are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded secondary school in Croydon for an experienced Senior Curriculum Leader of SEND.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding and ambitious leader who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to ensuring every pupil reaches their full potential. The successful candidate will lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school whilst supporting pupils, staff, and families to achieve the very best outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the school's SEND provision across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Teach and support pupils across Years 7-11 with physical, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure high-quality provision and inclusive classroom practice for all SEND pupils.
  • Lead strategic planning, driving innovation, continuous improvement, and positive change across the SEND department.
  • Develop and implement effective intervention strategies that improve pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and how it can be adapted to meet individual learning needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff through effective coaching and continued professional development.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers, external agencies, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting students.
  • Inspire colleagues through a clear vision for inclusive education and outstanding SEND practice.
  • Contribute to the wider leadership and pastoral life of the school.
About You
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience working within SEND in a secondary school setting.
  • Experience of leading or managing staff is highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of SEND legislation, inclusive practice, and intervention strategies.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and whole-school improvement.
