Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for an exciting new opportunity within an Outstanding primary school? We are working in partnership with a highly regarded and welcoming primary school in the heart of Clapham, Lambeth, seeking to appoint two dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their exceptional team from September 2026. The school will be conducting trials and interviews during the first week back after the summer holidays, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
Vacancy1: KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Year
1)
This rewarding role will involve providing 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism (ASC) within a Year 1 classroom.
- Have previous experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC).
- Have strong SEN knowledge and a nurturing approach.
- Be confident delivering and reinforcing Year 1 Phonics interventions.
- Support the pupil's academic, social and emotional development.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and parents.
- Be proactive, patient and committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
We are also seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Have previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
- Have a strong understanding of EYFS development and learning.
- Support children's communication, social interaction and early learning skills.
- Build positive relationships with children, staff and families.
- Be enthusiastic, caring and passionate about inclusion.
- Have previous SEN Teaching Assistant experience within a primary school setting.
- Hold a strong academic background.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be patient, adaptable and resilient.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
