About Us:THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF SERENA’S VISION
Regeneration, Economy and Planning in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. Where innovative and open-minded people bring everything to the cause. Even expertise from surprising places.
Take Serena. She is an absolute force of nature at the heart of our Church Street regeneration. And she puts the residents first in everything. Serena’s vision is clear. Regeneration isn’t just about bricks and concrete. It’s about communities. It’s about the environment. It’s about the lives of people and how they feel about where they call home. Serena is their advocate, making sure residents’ voices aren’t just heard, but drive the changes we’re making.
The future is safe in her hands.

The Role:As an Instructor for Sayers Croft London, you too can make a powerful contribution. Sayers Croft London is a team of just three with experience in Forest School and Outdoor Learning, we’re part of a wider team based at a residential centre in Surrey. For many children, their interaction with us is the first time that they will get to play in and explore the natural environment.
This is a part-time role with three fixed days and occasional weekend hours. Days to include Monday and Tuesday. One day a week, you’ll work with our long-term Home Educated Group. You may occasionally visit the Surrey-based team – either for training or to provide additional support.
We’re outside, whatever the weather. So, it’s important you’re ready to do a hands-on, physical job. You’ll work with a wide range of learners, including pre-schoolers, home-educated children, school groups, families and adults. You’ll plan and deliver long-term Forest School programmes, Introduction to Forest School programmes and outdoor learning workshops to Westminster schools. And you’ll facilitate community events, holiday activities and lead Forest Birthday Parties.
Alongside this, you’ll help us to manage communication, bookings, records and paperwork. Our environment really matters – you’ll keep our classrooms tidy, ensure sites are safe, and assist with the edible garden. We’d like you to be forward-thinking in creating opportunities for Westminster schools and communities.
To stay qualified for the role, you’ll undertake regular CPD courses, keep an up to date Outdoor Paediatric First Aid certificate and enhanced DBS.
Please refer to the Job Description for more information.
You’re interested in the natural world and local habitats. Friendly, approachable and a strong communicator, you can speak to and work with young children and adapt to various ages. You can manage a group and be responsible for primary aged children in the natural environment. Whether you’re working with colleagues or alone, you’re organised, carry out risk assessments, and adapt to the changing nature of working outdoors.
We’d like you to bring a strong knowledge of the Forest School principles and how to embed them in various settings. Plus, you’ve spent at least a year facilitating Forest School with primary aged children. Experience in Outdoor Learning, Environmental Education, or working in large groups would also be desirable.
You are Forest School Leader Level 3 and have Paediatric and Outdoor First Aid. It would be nice to see a relevant degree – such as in science, geography, environmental studies or education.
Westminster City Council is committed to supporting Care Leavers into the workplace. Care Leavers seeking their first job and who wish to be considered under our scheme, will automatically be invited to interview should they meet the essential criteria for the role.
