Year 3 Classroom Support Assistant – Phonics & Maths Focus

Teacher Active is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in Charlton for a Year 3 Classroom Support Assistant to join their dedicated team from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a friendly and inclusive school where you'll play a key role in supporting pupils' progress, particularly in Phonics and Maths. Working alongside an experienced Year 3 teacher, you'll deliver targeted interventions, support small group learning, and help pupils build confidence as they transition into Key Stage 2.

The school is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and caring individual who can build strong relationships with pupils and make a real impact on their learning journey.

The role will involve
  • Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 3 classroom.
  • Delivering Phonics and Maths interventions to individuals and small groups.
  • Encouraging pupil engagement and confidence in lessons.
  • Working closely with the class teacher to monitor progress.
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of learning abilities where required.
The successful candidate will have
  • Previous experience working within a UK primary school.
  • A strong understanding of Phonics and Maths interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, patient and enthusiastic approach.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
