Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant / Learning Mentor to join the team at Ardleigh Green .

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant / Learning Mentor

Location: Ardleigh Green .

Job Type: Temporary (with potential for long-term opportunities)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students across a range of curriculum areas.
  • Support learners to develop confidence, motivation, organisation, and independent learning skills.
  • Assist teaching staff in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, attendance, and student participation in lessons.
  • Help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and student wellbeing at all times.
  • Support students with additional learning needs where appropriate, while encouraging independence.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, or in a similar student support role.
  • Experience supporting young people or adults within a school, college, or community setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and promoting learner wellbeing.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting learners with mild additional learning needs in a mainstream educational environment.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and learner engagement.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Education, Youth Work, or a related field.
