ANZUK Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive Secondary school in Lewisham seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from an immediate start. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them access learning and achieve their full potential within a supportive environment.
The school is known for its strong pastoral care and collaborative staff culture, creating an environment where support staff can make a meaningful impact on pupil development and wellbeing.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role in Lewisham would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, or graduates with relevant SEN experience looking to further their career in education.
Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant- Support pupils with special educational needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
- Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and engagement.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and personal development.
- Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans.
- Have a relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) or a degree.
- Have experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of SEN support strategies and inclusive practice.
- Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and engagement.
- Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with staff and families.
