Your Role

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and resilient Cover Supervisor to join our committed staff team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of young people. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning, maintaining high standards of behaviour, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.

Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral leaders and support teams, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, deliver intervention programmes, support students' personal development and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the school.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.

Deliver pre-planned learning activities and support students in completing set work.

Maintain positive behaviour and high expectations in line with school policies.

Take registers and accurately record attendance, rewards and behaviour incidents.

Provide feedback to teachers regarding student engagement, behaviour and progress.

Support students with their learning and encourage them to become independent learners.

Assist with literacy, numeracy and other targeted intervention programmes.

Undertake form tutor responsibilities, including registration activities and pastoral support.

Support student attendance, wellbeing and personal development initiatives.

Work effectively alongside Learning Support Assistants and other support staff.

Assist with examinations, educational visits and wider school activities.

Undertake administrative duties to support teaching and learning where required.

Qualifications

At least 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent. Please state all subjects and grades.
