Full-time Ribbons & Reeves are working with a specialist SEN school in Camden seeking an enthusiastic and nurturing EYFS Teacher to join their early years provision. This is an opportunity to work with young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex additional needs, helping them develop the foundations for communication, learning and independence.

The Role You will lead an EYFS class , creating a structured, engaging and highly supportive learning environment for children who may be at very early stages of their development. The children may have limited attention spans, limited verbal communication and significant sensory or developmental needs . Some pupils may require support with personal care, including toileting and changing . Your teaching will focus on building the foundations for learning, including:
Early phonics and communication Attention and listening Early literacy and numeracy Sensory exploration Play and social interaction Communication and language Fine and gross motor development Independence and self-care Lessons will need to be short, engaging and highly practical , with plenty of repetition and opportunities for pupils to learn through play, movement and sensory experiences. The Pupils You will be working with young children with ASD and additional developmental needs .

Pupils may:
Have very limited attention spans Be non-verbal or have limited communication Require visual, sensory or communication support Need support with personal care and toileting Find transitions and changes difficult Require significant repetition and structure to engage with learning The successful teacher will understand that progress may come in very small steps and will be able to celebrate and build upon those achievements.

We're Looking For QTS or equivalent teaching qualification EYFS / KS1 teaching experience Experience working with ASD / SEN is highly desirable A strong understanding of early childhood development Experience or confidence delivering early phonics A patient, calm and nurturing approach Creativity and flexibility when engaging pupils with very short attention spans Comfortable supporting pupils with personal care and toileting Strong teamwork and communication skills A genuine passion for early years and specialist education This is not a conventional mainstream EYFS classroom.

The successful teacher will need to be comfortable working at the child's developmental level, adapting activities constantly and using play, repetition, sensory experiences and strong relationships to build the foundations for learning.
