- Plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated Art lessons that meet the diverse academic, social and emotional needs of all students.
- Create a safe, nurturing and well-structured classroom environment that encourages self-expression, confidence and positive engagement.
- Use assessment to monitor progress, set personalised targets and support students in developing their artistic skills and creativity.
- Contribute to the development of a broad, balanced and inclusive Art curriculum, including enrichment opportunities where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, pastoral teams and external professionals to support students' wellbeing and overall development.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a qualification in Art or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Art, ideally within an SEMH, special school or alternative provision setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to manage behaviour using supportive and restorative approaches.
- Ability to plan and deliver creative, adaptive lessons that engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
The PRIDE Academy is a secondary special school in the London Borough of Hillingdon, dedicated to supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
