We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Lecturer to deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across science-related programmes. The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge and a passion for education, with the ability to support learners in developing their scientific knowledge, practical skills and understanding to progress into further study or employment.

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across science-related courses and qualifications.
• Prepare schemes of learning, lesson plans and teaching resources in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements.
• Teach relevant scientific topics, such as biology, chemistry and physics, depending on the curriculum and subject specialism.
• Deliver practical sessions that develop learners' scientific knowledge, investigative skills and understanding of laboratory procedures.
• Assess learner progress, mark assignments and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
• Monitor attendance, progress and performance, maintaining accurate learner records.
• Support learners with their personal development and progression into further study or employment.
• Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and achievement.
• Ensure practical activities comply with health and safety requirements and that teaching and assessment meet relevant quality standards and safeguarding policies.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience teaching or lecturing in Science or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge in relevant scientific disciplines.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements.
• Experience delivering practical science sessions and promoting safe laboratory practices, where applicable.
• Experience assessing learner work, monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to learner achievement, development and progression.
• A relevant Science qualification and an appropriate teaching qualification, where required.
• An understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion within an educational setting.
