The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Electrochemical Lab Technician to support the development of advanced materials and components for electrolysis systems.

This is a high-impact, practical role in a fast-paced lab environment, offering significant opportunities for learning, contribution, and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain electrochemical equipment (potentiostats, electrochemical cells, electrolyser systems)

  • Fabricate catalyst-coated membranes (CCMs) and coated substrates (CCSs) for electrolysers

  • Assemble MEAs and integrate them into electrolysis systems for performance testing

  • Conduct electrochemical characterization (cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, chronoamperometry)

  • Design and modify experimental setups for electrolysers, fuel cells, and related systems

  • Formulate catalyst inks and apply coatings using advanced deposition techniques (e.g., spray, slot-die, decal transfer)

  • Analyze test data to optimize performance, efficiency, and durability

  • Support the scale-up of electrochemical processes for commercial deployment

  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards

  • Track and manage lab inventory and consumables

  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain lab equipment to ensure reliable results

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share insights and advance project goals

About You

You’re a technically minded, detail-oriented individual with a passion for experimental science and clean technology. You thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy turning complex chemistry and engineering challenges into practical solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • MSc in Electrochemistry, Electrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science (exceptional BSc candidates with strong experience also considered)

  • Practical experience in electrochemical testing and lab equipment operation

  • Familiarity with coating techniques (e.g., spray, slot-die, decal)

  • Experience assembling and testing electrochemical cells or fuel cell stacks (advantageous)

  • Exposure to industrial or pilot-scale systems (desirable)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Collaborative mindset and adaptability to a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
