Shift Mechanical Engineer | Central London (Hospital Environment) 🚨

We're recruiting two Shift Mechanical Engineers to join a large, critical hospital site in Central London. This is a permanent, full-time position offering stability, structured shifts, and the chance to work within a highly professional engineering team.

🔧 The Role

You'll be responsible for the maintenance, fault-finding, and operation of mechanical building services across a large and complex hospital facility. Supporting both clinical and non-clinical areas, you'll play a vital role in ensuring essential plant and equipment remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

This is a 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern (days and nights).

⚙️ What You'll Be Doing

Planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical building services

* Fault finding and repair of heating and cooling systems

* Monitoring, operating, and maintaining plant equipment

* Working on critical systems to ensure continuity of service

* Supporting compliance with health & safety and hospital regulations

* Accurate completion of shift reports and maintenance documentation

* Escalating issues appropriately within a high-compliance environment👷 What We're Looking For

Mechanical apprenticeship trained or equivalent (with clearly evidenced qualifications)

* Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role within a large or complex organisation

* Strong experience with heating and cooling systems

* Experience with steam systems and/or BMS (highly advantageous)

* Ability to work safely within a critical, regulated environment

* Willingness to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts💼 What's On Offer
