About the Role
Senior Engineer – Building Structures team. The role is based in the centrally located office on Chancery Lane. You will lead the technical design and delivery of schemes from inception through to handover to the client, working across a wide range of UK and international multi-disciplinary projects.
Responsibilities- Develop innovative and sustainable designs from concept across a large portfolio of projects including high‑rise, stadia/arenas, urban regeneration, healthcare, commercial & mixed‑use, major refurbishment and data centres.
- Participate in tender bids and business development opportunities as they arise.
- Agree fees and contribute to the management and commercial position on projects.
- Exercise independent judgement and resolve technical issues.
- Mentor and develop junior team members working towards their Chartership; select a mentor to guide your own career progression.
- Own and lead the design process, encouraging teams to deliver the right solutions on programme, providing technical review, mentoring and advice.
- Manage processes to ensure technical issues and risks are resolved timely and cost‑effectively.
- Form strong working relationships with other disciplines, external consultants, stakeholders and clients.
- Provide sustainable structural solutions from concept through to detailed design and construction.
- Provide specialist advice and design solutions around sustainable design, net‑zero carbon, MMC & DfMA.
- Degree or HNC/HND qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Chartered or on a path to Chartership (IStruct
E or ICE). - Solid experience in structural engineering design in all materials.
- Detailed working knowledge of national codes and standards.
- Proven understanding of the design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts and production of calculations.
- Experience with structural design software such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, Tekla Structural Designer & Tedds.
- Experience with Revit, Rhino and Grasshopper beneficial.
- Experience working with clients and contractors across a diverse range of objectives to achieve technical solutions.
- Enthusiasm and passion for engineering and a desire to work in an innovative and dynamic environment.
