Lead Mechanical Engineer
Location:
Peckham, London
Salary:
Up to £48,000 + Overtime Available
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a successful and growing engineering team in Peckham. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a supervisory position, leading a team of 3-4 engineers while remaining hands‑on and technically involved.
Working on a prestigious site, you will be responsible for overseeing daily engineering operations, ensuring high standards of maintenance, compliance, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support a team of 3-4 engineers on site
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance
- Ensure all mechanical systems are operating efficiently and safely
- Allocate and supervise workloads across the engineering team
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineers
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and site procedures
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and site management teams
- Qualified Mechanical Engineer (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a supervisory, lead or senior engineering role
- Strong mechanical maintenance background within commercial building services
- Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Good communication and leadership abilities
- Salary up to £48,000 per annum
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Overtime available
