The need to develop services that can meet tomorrow’s built‑environment needs means Mott Mac Donald has never been more involved in shaping global net zero carbon policy and facility provision. Your role will support the Buildings Health division sector technical team in expanding healthcare work in the UK and Europe.

We are recruiting a candidate who will provide healthcare sector business development and subsequent technical delivery leadership across built‑environment healthcare projects. The role includes technically‑led bid activity and client relationship building – primarily through thought leadership on site decarbonisation, adaptation or replacement of existing MEP engineering systems, inclusion of MMC/DfMA design solutions, structural adaptation, etc. The candidate will be self‑motivated and capable of delivering high‑quality technical advisory services with minimal supervision of time and budget.

As part of a wider practice network the role supports the Healthcare sector team known for winning work, successful project delivery, and technical excellence.

• Have responsibility for all aspects of assigned project work, focusing on healthcare sector built‑environment projects
• Support national core teams of project delivery staff on technical aspects of healthcare projects – developing and mentoring teams to deliver healthcare sector projects
• Work and liaise with associated engineering disciplines as part of bidding and delivering technical support
• Client‑facing on technical matters
• Support senior managers running the commercial and contractual side of built‑environment projects
• Manage delivery of assigned built‑environment technical advisory projects
• Manage internal and external stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction and pursuing opportunities with potential and established clients
• Use relevant industry software (e.g., IES, Revit, ADB Codebook, DRofus)
• Develop, maintain and monitor programmes for scheduling and reporting on deliverables across specific projects
• Maximise profitability of projects, monitor against budget, anticipate and communicate potential problems in line with client expectations
• Demonstrate technical expertise, provide in‑depth knowledge while coaching and developing less experienced team members

• Fully qualified and experienced professional with breadth of experience to make good decisions in built‑environment disciplines
• Experience leading building commissions and mentoring graduate engineers
• Enthusiastic, ambitious, excellent communication skills (report writing and presentation)
• Ability to lead elements of large projects or a portfolio of smaller projects
• Experience managing client relationships and expectations with accountability for key customer relationships and delivery of outputs
• Specialist providing high‑level advice to others
• Track record of achievement and innovation, delivering complex projects or new services
• Managing and supervising work of other professionally qualified staff
• Well‑developed professional network externally and desire to build internal networks within the organisation
