Senior Civil Engineer

London (Central) – Permanent | Full-time

I'm currently working with a growing, design‑led civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Central London that is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer as part of its continued expansion.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer who enjoys hands‑on technical delivery and is now looking to take on greater responsibility, with a clear pathway into team leadership as the civil engineering function grows.

• Leading the delivery of civil engineering design packages, including below‑ground drainage and SuDS, external works and levels design, highways and access works, earthworks strategies and cut/fill analysis.
• Coordinating civil designs with structural engineers, architects, and other consultants.
• Producing and overseeing pre‑planning deliverables such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
• Supporting projects through detailed design and construction stages, responding to technical queries and coordinating updates.
• Promoting best practice in the use of digital tools, including Civil 3D and hydraulic modelling software.
• Reviewing and checking work as part of the internal QA process.
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians as the team grows.
• Assisting with fee proposals, client meetings, and business development activities where appropriate.

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng or MEng).
• Chartered or actively working towards Chartership (ICE or equivalent).
• Strong UK consultancy experience delivering civil engineering design for building or development projects.
• Solid technical grounding in drainage, SuDS, external works, highways, and levels design.
• Confident using Civil 3D and hydraulic modelling software such as Info Drainage or Micro Drainage.
• Comfortable working across feasibility, planning, detailed design, and construction stages.
• Clear and practical communicator, able to explain engineering decisions to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Interested in taking on increasing responsibility and helping to shape a growing civil engineering team.
