Overview

Graduate Structural Engineer — London, N1. Salary £31k–£34k per year. The role is with an up-and-coming structural engineering practice that values mentorship and career growth. The Director is MIStructE qualified and has experience mentoring for chartership. The firm is small and plans to grow to around 10 staff in the coming years.

The workload is currently exceptionally busy, and the practice offers an environment with autonomy and variety. The team operates from a newly fitted office space shared with a design-focused client, providing a friendly, collaborative setting. The role offers exposure to all aspects of projects and the opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the company.

Responsibilities
  • Support a range of projects, often architecturally led, with values typically in the £1m–£6m build range.
  • Engage in design work across all stages of projects and collaborate with architects and engineers.
  • Develop towards Chartership with guidance from a mentor; take ownership of tasks and seek autonomy in delivery.
  • Contribute to problem solving on complex or “fiddly” design challenges and communicate effectively with the project team.
  • Participate in day-to-day project management and coordination as part of a small team.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 6 months to 1 year of buildings design experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to use Revit is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and motivation for development and career growth.
  • A fresh graduate of exceptional calibre will also be considered.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK on a long-term basis (no visa sponsorship).
