An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Operations Manager to take technical and operational responsibility for the engineering services within a large, prestigious corporate headquarters in Central London.

The building is occupied by a leading global investment firm and operates within a demanding, high-profile financial-services environment where engineering resilience, compliance, service continuity and professional standards are critical.

This is not a conventional maintenance management position. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visible technical leadership across a substantial and complex mechanical and electrical estate, ensuring that engineering issues are properly investigated, contractors are effectively challenged and the engineering team consistently delivers to the standards expected within a business-critical environment.

The position would suit an established Engineering Manager, Technical Operations Manager, Technical Services Manager or senior engineering professional who combines strong M&E knowledge with confident people management, commercial awareness and excellent client-facing skills.

You will take responsibility for the safe, compliant and effective operation of the site's mechanical and electrical services, including:

• Providing technical and operational leadership to the site engineering team
• Coordinating daily engineering activities, workloads, maintenance schedules and operational priorities
• Taking managerial ownership of significant faults, incidents and recurring engineering issues
• Supporting engineers with fault diagnosis, technical decision-making and complex maintenance problems
• Leading root-cause investigations and ensuring that corrective actions deliver long-term solutions
• Directing and managing specialist contractors, subcontractors and service partners
• Reviewing contractor recommendations and challenging proposed solutions where necessary
• Ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is completed in accordance with contractual, statutory and client requirements
• Managing the daily operation of building controls, engineering systems and asset-management platforms
