Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services

Are you a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career with a fast-growing Building Services consultancy?
 
This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive M&E consultancy with ambitious growth plans, aiming to double in size over the next three years. As the business expands, you'll play a key role in delivering technically challenging projects while progressing towards an Associate-level position.
 
You'll have the opportunity to lead projects from concept through to completion, mentor junior engineers and develop strong client relationships.
 
Responsibilities will include:

· Leading the mechanical design of projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.

· Producing calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.

· Designing HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning and public health services.

· Coordinating designs with electrical, structural and architectural teams using BIM where appropriate.

· Attending client meetings, design workshops and site visits throughout project delivery.

· Providing technical guidance and mentoring Graduate and Intermediate Engineers.

· Managing project programmes, budgets and resource allocation.

· Ensuring all designs comply with current Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and British Standards.

· Supporting business development and helping strengthen long-term client relationships.

You'll be an experienced Building Services Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects and supporting the development of others.
You'll have:

· A minimum of 6 years' UK Building Services design experience.

· Experience delivering projects within Data Centres.

· Chartered Engineer status (CIBSE or IMechE), or be actively working towards Chartership.

· Strong experience producing mechanical building services designs across all RIBA stages.

· Proficiency with Hevacomp, IES and other industry-standard design software.

· Excellent communication skills with the confidence to lead meetings and manage client relationships.
