You will be working in the HS2 Main Works, the SCS Joint Venture with Costain and Strabag, our HS2 Main Works South team is delivering one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects – 26 miles of tunnels from London Euston to West Ruislip, along with viaducts, bridges and embankments that will connect communities for generations.

As the Engineering Manager, you will:
  • Leading the Engineering focus across the S&H assets, ensuring consistency across the asset teams
  • Challenge the team to innovate and not accept the status quo
  • Ensure collaborative working, the right behaviours and culture within the team
  • Deliver S&H works in line with the SCS Engineering Management Plan and all other relevant Processes and Procedures
  • Support the Budget Owner Construction Site Support (CSS) with Design House (DH) for related technical work streams
  • Appropriately identify, manage, communicate and mitigate Risk
  • Liaise and interface with other appropriate disciplines and third parties:
    Commercial, Planning, Consents & Engagement etc (not exhaustive list) providing the necessary technical input as the principal project Subject Matter Expert (SME) in regard of Headhouses & Fitout
  • Ensure that the works are appropriately considerate for maintenance and health, safety and welfare during construction and in-use
We are looking for:
  • Educated to degree or higher and hold relevant professional qualification
  • Extensive experience in project-based design and engineering management across all project stages
  • Extensive experience of large complex projects in the rail, highways, water or energy sectors
  • Expert understanding of Engineering Principles and extensive technical knowledge
  • Experience of managing the challenges associated with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
