Job title – Technical Consultant I, Environmental Scientist

Role context -

This vacancy is for a Consultant based in one of our London offices to support in the delivery and management of contaminated land assessment and remediation projects. This is a full time, permanent (40 hours per week) position and will be part of our Decommissioning, Restoration and Geosciences practice.

You ll be -

  • Core Responsibilities will include the following:
  • • Supporting delivery of contaminated land assessment and remediation projects including: desk studies, site investigation, risk assessments, remediation options appraisals, remedial design and verification;
  • • Undertaking the NEC Supervisor role for contaminated land remediation projects and supporting the NEC Project Manager. Training will be provided regarding the Supervisor role, but some previous experience is preferred.
  • • Data management: review and interpretation;
  • Preparation of high-quality technical reports;
  • Field work including managing contractors on site;
  • Managing project health and safety on site including preparation of project HSSE plans and method statements; and,
  • Compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.

You ll have -

  • Knowledge and experience will include the following:
  • • Demonstrate knowledge of the contaminated land assessment process, human health and environmental risk assessment, development of site conceptual models, soil and groundwater remediation, analytical methodologies and sampling procedures;
  • • Be able to write clear, logical and concise technical reports;
  • • Demonstrate logical and independent thinking;
  • • Strong ability to present, analyse and interpret data to a very high standard;
  • • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • • Be willing to travel and spend periods of time away on field-based projects across the UK and internationally; and
  • • Be eligible to work in the UK and hold a full valid driving licence.

Qualifications:

  • • Candidates should be educated to degree level (Master’s preferred) in a relevant discipline (e.g. Geology, Applied Environmental Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Consultancy, Geochemistry).
