Civil Engineering Director

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Engineering Director to lead and develop an established civil engineering team in Central London.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished Civil Engineer with extensive UK consultancy experience across highways and drainage infrastructure. You'll take responsibility for an existing team and diverse project portfolio spanning residential, education, commercial and industrial developments, while playing a key role in the continued growth of the civil engineering offering.

The successful Civil Engineering Director will combine strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, client relationships and team leadership.

As Civil Engineering Director, you'll be responsible for:

• Leading and developing an established civil engineering team
• Overseeing the delivery of highways and drainage infrastructure designs
• Providing technical leadership across complex development projects
• Managing projects across residential, education, commercial and industrial sectors
• Reviewing and approving technical designs and engineering deliverables
• Maintaining high standards of technical quality across the team
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting the continued growth of the civil engineering division
• Managing project resources, workloads and delivery programmes
• Mentoring and developing engineers at different stages of their careers
• Working closely with fellow Directors and multidisciplinary teams
• Identifying new opportunities and supporting business development

We're looking for an established senior Civil Engineer with the technical and leadership experience to take ownership of an existing team.

Ideally, you'll have:

• A minimum of 15 years' relevant UK civil engineering experience
• Significant experience within a UK engineering consultancy
• Strong expertise in highways and drainage infrastructure design
• Experience delivering residential and mixed-use development infrastructure
• Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams
• Strong project and commercial management capabilities
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Experience overseeing multiple projects and teams simultaneously
• Strong understanding of UK technical standards, approvals and development infrastructure
• The confidence to contribute to the strategic growth of a civil engineering business
  
  Chartered Engineer status would be highly advantageous for a position at this level.

• Salary of £80,000-£100,000
