Job Summary Fire Engineer East Central London is an opportunity to join a growing Fire Engineering team within a multidisciplinary building consultancy. Based in East Central London, this hybrid position supports projects across the Fire Engineering & Fire Safety sector, delivering services on residential, commercial, education, healthcare and mixed-use developments.

You will provide fire engineering expertise from early design through to practical completion, supporting Building Safety Regulator Gateway submissions and Building Safety Act compliance. Working closely with Building Surveyors, Project Managers, Cost Consultants and Principal Designers, you will contribute to technically led consultancy services while maintaining high professional standards.

The role offers technical autonomy, direct client engagement and involvement in the continued development of fire engineering services across a diverse portfolio of built environment projects.

About the Company Trident Building Consultancy is an employee-owned, B Corp certified multidisciplinary consultancy with offices across the UK. The business delivers Building Surveying, Project Management, Sustainability and Building & Fire Safety services for clients across the residential, commercial, education, healthcare and public sectors.

Their Fire Engineering team supports projects throughout the building lifecycle, including design, regulatory compliance, external wall remediation and Building Safety Regulator Gateway submissions. The consultancy promotes collaboration across professional disciplines while maintaining a strong focus on quality, technical excellence and evolving building safety legislation.

Role & Responsibilities Lead the preparation review and technical sign off of fire strategies regulatory reports and supporting engineering documentation for complex buildings

Apply sound professional judgement to fire engineering decisions ensuring compliance with UK legislation Building Regulations Approved Documents and recognised guidance

Provide technical leadership for fire engineering matters including technical review quality assurance and project governance

Build trusted client relationships through clear communication practical advice and proactive management of technical expectations across multiple projects

Support fee proposals scope development and business development activities while promoting multidisciplinary consultancy services

Mentor junior colleagues through technical guidance knowledge sharing continuing professional development and service improvement initiatives

Collaborate with Building Surveyors Project Managers Cost Consultants and Principal Designers to deliver integrated building safety solutions

Skills & Experience Required Professional fire engineering experience with IFE membership professional registration or a clear pathway towards recognised status

Degree qualified in Fire Engineering Mechanical Engineering or another closely related engineering discipline with relevant professional experience

Minimum three years experience delivering fire engineering consultancy services across built environment projects within the United Kingdom Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation Building Regulations Building Safety Act and Building Safety Regulator Gateway processes

Experience working on complex buildings including external wall remediation and risk based fire engineering assessments

Excellent report writing stakeholder communication project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Collaborative approach with integrity professional judgement and commitment to delivering high quality fire engineering consultancy services
